President Donald Trump has told The New York Times that he has no intention of pardoning former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried, despite the jailed executive's attempts to seek clemency.

During an interview, Trump spoke on a wide range of topics, from US oversight of Venezuela and its ousted leader Nicolás Maduro to whether he would consider pardoning several high-profile figures, including Bankman-Fried.

The list included Maduro, former New Jersey Senator Robert Menéndez, music mogul Sean "Diddy" Combs, and Bankman-Fried, according to The New York Times.

Bankman-Fried was convicted in 2023, during the Biden administration, on multiple counts of fraud and conspiracy for stealing billions of dollars from customer funds on his now-bankrupt crypto exchange platform, FTX.

He is currently serving a 25-year prison sentence and is seeking to appeal the conviction.
