Two Swedish politicians are pushing for the country to enter the Bitcoin arena.

Dennis Dioukarev and David Perez of the Sweden Democrats party have formally proposed that the Riksdag investigate the creation of a strategic Bitcoin reserve, warning that Sweden risks falling behind in a global "digital arms race."

The proposal explicitly cites the United States and other nations as participants in such a race. To finance the reserve, the MPs suggest using Bitcoin seized under Sweden's new law allowing authorities to confiscate cryptocurrencies.
