CME Group, the world's leading derivatives marketplace, announced on Wednesday its plans to launch options on its Solana and XRP futures contracts on October 13, pending regulatory review.

The new products will include standard and micro-sized options with daily, monthly, and quarterly expiries.

This expansion provides institutional traders with more precise tools to hedge and speculate on the two cryptocurrencies.

The launch comes on the heels of record trading volumes, with Solana futures recording a notional volume of over $22 billion since its debut in March.
