Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has purchased an additional 136 Bitcoins for approximately $15.2 million, the company announced on Monday.

This latest acquisition, made at an average price of $111,666 per BTC, brings the company's total holdings to 20,136 BTC.

The company's cumulative investment in Bitcoin now stands at approximately $2.08 billion, with an average purchase price of $103,196 per coin.

According to data from BitcoinTreasuries, this consolidates Metaplanet's position as the sixth-largest corporate holder of Bitcoin globally.

Despite the aggressive accumulation, the company's shares posted a slight 1.2% decline in midday trading in Tokyo.
