China's Ministry of State Security has issued a warning against a foreign company — believed to be Worldcoin — for collecting iris data in exchange for crypto, calling it a threat to national security.
In a post on WeChat, the ministry alleged that the company has been systematically collecting biometric data globally under the guise of cryptocurrency rewards.

It warned that the data collected could compromise both personal privacy and state security.
Worldcoin has faced similar scrutiny elsewhere, such as in Indonesia, where its operations were suspended in May over data privacy concerns.
