Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has purchased an additional 463 BTC for $53.7 million, further consolidating its position as one of the leading corporate holders of Bitcoin.

According to a disclosure on Monday, the company purchased the latest batch at an average price of $115,895 per BTC.

Metaplanet now owns 17,595 BTC, acquired at an average cost of $101,422 per coin, for a total of approximately $1.78 billion in Bitcoin.

This move follows Friday's announcement of its plans to raise up to 555 billion yen ($3.7 billion) through perpetual preferred shares to finance future Bitcoin acquisitions.
