Japanese company Metaplanet has acquired an additional 7.80 Bitcoins for approximately $92.5 million, reinforcing its aggressive BTC accumulation strategy.
The company has revealed that the latest purchase was made at an average price of $118,622 per BTC, bringing its total holdings to 17,132 BTC, worth approximately $2 billion at the current price.
The company's CEO, Simon Gerovich, confirmed on X that Metaplanet's average acquisition cost is $101,030 per BTC.
According to data from Bitcointreasuries, Metaplanet now ranks seventh among the companies with the largest amount of Bitcoins worldwide.
The company, which began its BTC-focused strategy in April 2024, has recently raised its long-term goal to secure 1% of the Bitcoin supply (more than 210,000 BTC) by 2027.
