Telegram has launched a non-custodial cryptocurrency wallet in the US, in collaboration with MoonPay, to enable seamless crypto transactions within the app, as reported by CNBC on Tuesday.
The feature allows users to send and manage digital assets without leaving Telegram.
This follows the global launch of Telegram's cryptocurrency wallet, which recorded over 100 million activations.
The US launch eliminates the need for additional downloads, integrating crypto transactions as easily as messaging.
Telegram's move represents a strategic push into cryptocurrencies following its 2019 legal battle with the SEC over the TON token, which resulted in a $1.2 billion refund to investors and an $18.5 million settlement.
