The US Department of Justice (DOJ) and the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) have ended their investigations into prediction market Polymarket, Bloomberg reported on Tuesday.
Polymarket received official confirmation this month that both investigations had been closed. The DOJ had been examining whether the platform allowed US users to circumvent restrictions by using VPNs.
This follows a settlement with the CFTC in 2022, in which Polymarket paid a $1.4 million fine for offering unregulated binary options. Since then, the company has implemented stricter compliance measures.
