Standard Chartered Launches Bitcoin and Ether Trading for Institutional Clients

Multinational banking giant Standard Chartered has officially launched spot trading for Bitcoin and Ether through its UK division, the company announced on Tuesday.

The new service allows institutional and corporate clients to trade major cryptocurrencies directly through the bank's existing platforms. Initially available during Asian and European trading hours, 24/5 access could be added depending on demand.

Chief executive Bill Winters said digital assets are "a foundational element of the evolution in financial services," highlighting their role in driving innovation and growth in the sector.

Customers can also choose from multiple custody options, including Standard Chartered's in-house solutions and Zodia Custody.
