The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has published new disclosure guidelines for exchange-traded products linked to cryptocurrencies, indicating a possible change in how the agency approaches pending ETF applications, Reuters reported on Monday.
The 12-page guide, published last Tuesday, marks the beginning of a broad regulatory overhaul under Republican leadership.
The SEC has formed a working group dedicated to drafting new rules, restructured its cryptocurrency enforcement division, and suspended several high-profile cases that were previously considered major victories for the agency.
Industry sources indicate that additional streamlining measures by the SEC's trading and markets division could further accelerate approvals.
