Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has acquired an additional 2,205 Bitcoins for approximately $238.7 million, bringing its total holdings to 15,555 BTC.

According to CEO Simon Gerovich, the latest purchase was made at an average price of $108,237 per BTC.

With this acquisition, Metaplanet maintains its position as the fifth-largest corporate holder of Bitcoins globally, behind MicroStrategy's massive treasury of 597,325 BTC.

The company's bitcoin-focused strategy appears to be paying off, with second-quarter revenue reaching 1.1 billion yen ($7.6 million), a 42.4% year-over-year increase.

Metaplanet has set an ambitious goal of owning more than 210,000 BTC by the end of 2027.
