The proposal, which was submitted to the Presidential Committee on Policy Planning, outlines plans to establish regulations for these funds in the second half of 2025.

The move is in line with President Lee Jae Myung's campaign promise to lift the country's ban on cryptocurrency ETFs, which were previously restricted due to concerns about financial stability.

The roadmap also includes preparations to allow stablecoins pegged to the Korean won by the end of 2025, another key part of Lee's cryptocurrency-related agenda aimed at retaining domestic capital.
