Alex Protocol, a Bitcoin DeFi project built on the Stacks blockchain, was hacked on June 6, resulting in losses worth $8.3 million.
The attackers exploited a vulnerability in the platform's self-listing verification logic to drain multiple liquidity pools.
The stolen assets include:
- 8.4 million STX tokens.
- 21.85 sBTC.
- 149,850 USDC/USDT.
- 2.8 WBTC.
The Alex Lab Foundation has committed to fully reimbursing users from treasury reserves, with compensation in USDC based on the exchange rates on the day of the attack.
Affected users must submit claim forms by June 10.
