Japanese investment firm Metaplanet has purchased an additional 1,088 BTC, bringing its total holdings to 8,888 BTC (worth approximately $930 million).
The latest acquisition cost 16.885 billion yen ($117.5 million), averaging $108,051 per Bitcoin.
This move follows Metaplanet's recent issuance of $50 million in interest-free bonds.
The company has aggressively accumulated Bitcoins in 2025, purchasing 7,126 BTC this year alone. It now aims to reach 10,000 BTC by the end of the year.
Since adopting a Bitcoin treasury strategy in April 2024, Metaplanet has become the largest corporate holder of BTC in Asia and one of the top 10 holders globally.
