Hardware wallet maker Ledger regained control of its Discord server on Sunday after a hacker briefly took control using a compromised moderator account.
The attacker tricked users into entering their seed phrases on a third-party site and silenced or banned those who tried to warn others, X reports.
Ledger team member Quintin Boatwright explained on the server:
"One of our contracted moderators had their account compromised, which allowed a malicious bot to post scam links in one channel."
Recently, Ledger customers were also targeted by another scam, receiving letters with the company's logo directing them to a site to "verify" their devices by entering their seed phrases.
