The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has delayed its decision on the approval of two ETFs for Dogecoin and XRP, according to recent filings.
The regulator has extended its deadline for evaluating the launch of these ETFs until June.
These filings are in response to March requests from US exchanges NYSE Arca and Cboe BZX Exchange to list Bitwise's Dogecoin ETF and Franklin Templeton's XRP ETF, respectively.
On the same day, Nasdaq filed for approval to list a Dogecoin ETF from 21Shares.
Dogecoin, the world's most traded memecoin, has a market capitalization of about $26 billion as of April 29, according to CoinGecko.
Meanwhile, XRP, the native token of the XRP Ledger blockchain, has a market capitalization of about $133 billion, according to CoinGecko.
