The North Dakota Senate has passed a bill regulating cryptocurrency ATMs, reinstating a provision to limit daily transactions to $2,000 per user, which the state's House had initially removed.

House Bill 1447 passed by a 45-1 vote on March 18.

Introduced on January 15, the bill aims to protect residents from scams by establishing new guidelines for cryptocurrency ATMs and their operators.

The Senate version requires operators of crypto ATMs and kiosks to be licensed as money transmitters, limits customer cash withdrawals to $2,000 per day on all networks, and issues fraud warnings.
