Japanese firm Metaplanet has acquired an additional 150 Bitcoins, bringing it closer to its target of 21,000 BTC by 2026.
The purchase on March 18 amounted to 1.88 billion yen ($12.6 million), or an average of $83,671 per Bitcoin.
This acquisition brings the total number of Bitcoins held by Metaplanet to 3,200 BTC, valued at $261.8 million.
Metaplanet has issued more than 44 million common shares to fund its Bitcoin acquisitions, earning it the nickname "Asia's MicroStrategy" as it reflects the strategy of Michael Saylor's company.
