Argentina's securities regulator has established rules for virtual asset service providers (VASPs), outlining codes of conduct and custody requirements for cryptocurrency exchanges and digital asset platforms.

Announced on March 13 by the National Securities Commission (CNV) under General Resolution No. 1058, the regulations impose "obligations regarding registration, cybersecurity, asset custody, money laundering prevention, and risk disclosure" for VASPs in Argentina.

The regulations aim to ensure "transparency, stability and protection of users in the cryptocurrency ecosystem."
