The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has postponed its decision on the approval of several ETFs for XRP, Litecoin, Solana and Dogecoin.
The agency announced yesterday it has designated a longer period to consider proposed rule changes necessary for these ETFs to move forward.
This delay affects ETFs such as Grayscale's XRP and Cboe BZX Exchange's spot Solana ETF, whose decisions are now expected in May.
Bloomberg ETF analyst James Seyffart noted in a March 11 post on X that the SEC "punted on a bunch of altcoin ETF filings," but he didn’t see it as a cause for concern. "It’s expected, as this is standard procedure."
Seyffart also mentioned that US President Donald Trump's nominee for SEC chairman, Paul Atkins, has not yet been confirmed.
