Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA) announced yesterday that it has received approval from the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) to offer Bitcoin and Ether trading services to its customers.

As Spain's second largest bank, BBVA will allow users to buy, sell and manage digital assets through its mobile app.

The bank will use its own cryptographic key custody platform, ensuring full control of customers' holdings without third-party intervention.

Initially, the service will be available to a select group of users, with plans to expand access to all individual customers in Spain in the coming months.
