US President Donald Trump has announced that the President's Working Group on Digital Assets has been instructed to include XRP, Solana and Cardano in the nation's crypto-strategic reserve.
He has subsequently added Bitcoin and Ether to the list, emphasizing that these cryptocurrencies would be central to the core of the reserve.
At the Bitcoin 2024 conference in Nashville, Tennessee, Trump had previously pledged to create a "strategic national Bitcoin stockpile."

During his keynote address, he stated, "It will be the policy of my administration — the United States of America — to keep 100% of all the Bitcoin the government currently holds or acquires into the future. We will keep a hundred percent."
The president's stance on a strategic Bitcoin reserve evolved following his Jan. 23 executive order directing the group to establish a "digital asset stockpile," a move that upset Bitcoin maximalists.
