Metaplanet has acquired 156 more Bitcoins today, and its CEO, Simon Gerovich, has announced the company is considering a listing outside of Japan, possibly in the United States.
The acquisition was made at a price of approximately $85,890 per Bitcoin, for a total of about $13.4 million, and increased the total number of Bitcoins held by Metaplanet to 2,391 BTC.
The company has now invested $196.3 million in Bitcoin at an average price of $82,100 per Bitcoin, reflecting a 13% increase since the launch of its Bitcoin investment strategy in April last year.
Gerovich recently met with officials from the New York Stock Exchange and Nasdaq to showcase Metaplanet's "platforms and functions."
