Cboe BZX Exchange has proposed a rule change to Rule 19.3 that would permit the listing and trading of options on spot Ethereum exchange-traded funds.
The proposed rule change would specifically include options on the Bitwise Ethereum ETF, the Grayscale Ethereum Trust, the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust and any other fund holding Ether.

Rule 19.3 allows trading of options on fund shares linked to various investments, such as financial instruments, money market assets, precious metals and Bitcoin.
Cboe BZX believes that offering options on these Ethereum funds would be beneficial to investors, as it would provide them with a cost-effective tool to gain exposure to spot Ether and hedge against investments in Ether products and positions.
