Healthcare technology and software company Semler Scientific recently announced that it has invested more than $88 million in bitcoin in recent weeks, with a current paper gain of more than 150%.
The company purchased 871 bitcoins between Jan. 11 and Feb. 3 for an average price of $101,616 per BTC, it stated in a Feb. 4 press release.
Semler also reported a 152% return between July 1 and Feb. 3, the first full quarter after implementing its bitcoin treasury strategy. The company's year-to-date return is 22%.
As of February 3, Semler holds 3,192 BTC, which were acquired for a total of $280 million at an average price of $87,854 per coin. This investment is currently valued at about $313 million at current market prices.
