El Salvador Purchases 12 Bitcoins in One Day

El Salvador has again increased its growing Bitcoin reserve, buying 12 Bitcoins in the last day during a downturn in the crypto market.

The country bought 11 Bitcoins on February 4 for a total of $1.1 million, at an average price of $101,816 per Bitcoin.

They also purchased an additional 1 BTC for $99,114, according to the government's Bitcoin Office tracker. This brings the country's total holdings to 6,068 BTC, worth more than $554 million.

On February 4, the Bitcoin Office shared a post announcing that El Salvador had accumulated a total of 21 BTC in the last week and 60 BTC in the last 30 days.

The post stated the country's Strategic Bitcoin Reserve continues to grow, consolidating its position as the first such reserve in the world and increasing its success.
