Bloomberg has reported that the CFTC has asked Crypto.com and prediction marketplace Kalshi to clarify how their contracts for the Super Bowl event comply with derivatives regulations.

Crypto.com has announced it will continue to offer Super Bowl wagers while working with the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to address any concerns the regulator may have.

On 19 December, Crypto.com, which operates a derivatives platform in the US, notified the CFTC that it would begin trading these contracts on Dec. 23.

However, Bloomberg reported at the time that the CFTC did not have enough time to review them due to the holiday season and the possibility of a government shutdown.

Crypto.com stated that it believes its event contracts are compliant and that the CFTC is the appropriate regulator to ensure market integrity, manipulation controls and product availability in all 50 states.
