In an interview with CNN Prima News on Monday, Aleš Michl, governor of the Czech National Bank (ČNB), discussed the possibility of including Bitcoin in the bank's strategy to diversify its reserves.

Michl stated he had suggested to the ČNB the idea of buying Bitcoin, but clarified that the bank currently has no plans to invest in cryptocurrencies.

He added that Bitcoin is an interesting option to diversify the bank's assets and that discussions would continue among the seven board members.

Although Michl had considered acquiring a small amount of Bitcoin, he clarified that it would not be a significant investment.

The Czech Republic is not the only country considering acquiring cryptocurrencies, as El Salvador announced in September 2021 that it would launch a Bitcoin treasury program. Other countries, including the United States, have also discussed plans to invest in Bitcoin as a strategic move.
