HashKey Europe, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-based cryptocurrency exchange HashKey, has recently received the green light from the Central Bank of Ireland to operate as a virtual asset service provider (VASP).

On January 7, HashKey Group announced its expansion plans, with the approval of registration as a VASP by Ireland's central bank being a crucial step towards achieving this goal.

In accordance with the European Union's Fifth Anti-Money Laundering Directive (AMLD5), all crypto service providers in Ireland must register with the central bank to comply with anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorist financing (CFT) measures.

With the approval of this VASP license, HashKey is now able to offer various crypto-related services, such as the exchange of cryptocurrencies for fiat money, the exchange of cryptocurrencies for cryptocurrencies, wallet custody services and the transfer of digital assets on behalf of third parties.
