Coinbase has just announced it will suspend trading of Wrapped Bitcoin (WBTC) in December due to undisclosed issues that do not meet the exchange's listing standards.

According to Coinbase's November 19 posting on X, they regularly review the assets listed on their exchange and have determined that WBTC will be suspended from trading on Dec. 19, 2024 at around 12 p.m. ET.

Currently, Coinbase has halted trading of WBTC on the exchange and is only allowing limit orders. WBTC is a token that represents Bitcoin on other blockchain networks.

Trading will cease on all Coinbase platforms, including Coinbase.com, Coinbase Exchange and Coinbase Prime. However, users will continue to have access to their WBTC funds and the option to withdraw them at any time.
