On November 14, Tether minted USDT stablecoins worth $1 billion on the Tron network without incurring transaction fees.
This major minting event, highlighted by blockchain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence, involved the transfer of funds from a "black hole address" to Tether's multi-signature wallet, followed by rapid movement into the company's treasury.
The Tron network's low transaction fees have made it an attractive platform for issuers and users of stablecoins, particularly in regions with high fees that can erode the value of payments and remittances.
With 62.7 billion USDT authorized on the Tron network, it now rivals the 62.9 billion on the Ethereum network.
