Approximately $20 million in cryptocurrencies have been stolen from US government wallets, according to Arkham Intelligence, an analytics firm.
This was discovered when unusual activity was observed on the decentralized lending platform Aave around 2:00 p.m. ET on Thursday.
Funds that had not moved in more than eight months were suddenly withdrawn.

According to the company, the suspect received funds linked to the Bitfinex hacks from nine different addresses belonging to the US government.
These funds include approximately $14 million in the stablecoin AUSDC, $5.4 million in USDC, $1.1 million in USDT and nearly half a million in ETH.
