The SEC approved NYSE and CBOE applications for the listing of options on spot Bitcoin ETFs on Oct. 18, a long-awaited development.
This means options trading will now be available to the 11 approved NYSE ETF providers, including big names like Fidelity and BlackRock.
CBOE has also requested options trading for approved ETF providers in 2024, following a change in regulatory policy. This brings Bitcoin ETF options to the same level as other commodity-based ETFs, with the exception of Grayscale's Bitcoin Mini Trust.
