In the week of October 12, 2024, worldwide Google searches for "Bitcoin" fell to a low not seen in more than a year, with a rating of 33 out of 100.
In comparison, the term "memecoins" had a volume of 77 out of 100, but has yet to surpass its previous all-time high of 100 reached in October 2023.
Despite this, Ki Young Ju, CEO and founder of CryptoQuant, predicts that memecoins will reach the previous all-time high by the end of October 2024 due to continued high interest in this type of digital asset.
Throughout 2024, memecoins have been the top performing sector in the crypto industry and show no signs of slowing down.
According to Step Finance, 491,000 new tokens have been created on the Solana network since September 12, 2024.
