Former FTX CEO Sam Bankman-Fried has filed an appeal and demanded a new trial.

His lawyer has criticized New York District Judge Lewis Kaplan's handling of the case, claiming the former executive was unfairly prevented from presenting certain evidence.

According to Bankman-Fried's lawyer, Bankman-Fried was already considered guilty by the media, FTX's debtor estate, federal prosecutors and even the judge before he was indicted.

The 102-page appeal has been filed with the US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit.

Bankman-Fried was convicted in November by a New York jury on all seven counts of defrauding FTX customers, lenders and investors.
