Spanish crypto exchange Bit2Me announced on Friday it had received authorization from Argentina's National Securities Commission (CNV) to operate as a virtual asset service provider (VASP), CoinDesk has reported.

According to the company, this approval consolidates Bit2Me's compliance with local regulatory standards, giving investors and financial institutions in Argentina confidence in the company.

The CNV launched a registry of virtual asset service providers in March, and Bit2Me is one of 79 approved providers listed by the CNV.

In June 2023, Bit2Me received a $15 million investment to further expand its presence in Spain and accelerate its growth in Latin America.

The company's subsequent acquisition of a majority stake in its Peruvian counterpart Fluyez in 2022 has further contributed to these efforts.
