Asset management firm Franklin Templeton intends to introduce a new cryptocurrency index ETF.
According to an August 16 filing, the Franklin Crypto Index ETF will mirror the performance of the CF Institutional Digital Asset Index, which currently only includes Bitcoin and Ethereum.
The ETF will allocate its investments in the same proportions as the index, and could include other types of cryptocurrencies in the future.
The Franklin Crypto Index ETF is one of the first of its kind in the cryptocurrency index ETF market.
This market has gained traction following the successful launch of BTC and Ether ETFs in January and July, respectively.
