Crypto exchange Gate.io has announced it will stop offering its services to customers in Japan.
The decision has been made due to requests from the Japanese financial regulator, the Financial Services Agency, to comply with its regulations.
As of July 22, the platform will no longer accept new account registrations from Japanese customers.

It has also stated it will help affected customers move their assets to other exchanges that comply with Japanese law.
The platform will also remove all Japanese language information from its website, but will continue to provide updates to assist clients during the account migration process.
The timing and details of the closure and asset migration will be determined based on requests from the Financial Services Agency.
