The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has given approval for two spot Ethereum ETFs, the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust and the ProShares Ethereum ETF, for listing on the New York Stock Exchange's (NYSE) Arca electronic trading platform, according to a July 17 filing.

While this authorization allows NYSE to facilitate trading of the funds, the issuers must still await final comments on their respective S-1 filings before the ETFs can begin trading.

A spokesperson for Grayscale has expressed enthusiasm for the approval of its proposed ETH ticker symbol for the Grayscale Ethereum Mini Trust Form 19b-4.

According to reports, the SEC has preliminarily approved at least three issuers to launch spot Ether ETFs by July 23. Eight spot Ether ETFs are currently seeking final approval after making several changes to their S-1 filings and engaging in discussions with the SEC.
