DigitalX, a company specializing in blockchain technology-related asset management, has received approval from regulators to launch a Bitcoin exchange-traded fund (ETF) on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX).

It is the second Bitcoin ETF to be listed on the ASX. The DigitalX Bitcoin ETF will begin trading under the ticker BTXX on July 12.

The exchange's chief executive, Lisa Wade, has described the approval as an important moment for the company, stating the product offers ASX customers a regulated and liquid way to access Bitcoin.

To market the ETF, DigitalX has partnered with K2 Asset Management, which will act as the responsible entity and issuer.

The company has also partnered with 3iQ, a firm focused on crypto investments, to promote and distribute the product in Australia and internationally.
