Investment manager VanEck filed Form 8-A yesterday with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its spot Ethereum ETF.

This brings the ETF one step closer to being available for trading.

Eric Balchunas, a Bloomberg senior analyst specializing in ETFs, speculated that spot Ether ETFs could be available for trading as early as July 2, following the updated filing.

Balchunas bases his prediction on the fact that VanEck's 8-A filing for its Bitcoin ETF was submitted seven days before its market launch.

In early June, Balchunas had predicted a July launch window for the ETF due to the lack of meaningful comments from the SEC staff on S-1 filings from ETF applicants.
