The Australian government has implemented a ban on the use of cryptocurrencies and credit cards for online gambling to protect its citizens from financial harm.

According to a report in The Canberra Times on June 11, the government has banned the use of digital currencies and credit cards on online gambling platforms.

Companies that violate the new regulations could face fines of up to approximately $155,000.

The new rules cover various forms of credit, including credit cards linked to digital wallets and new forms of credit such as Bitcoin.

These rules for online gambling align with Australian laws for traditional gambling establishments.
