The Spanish Data Protection Agency recently revealed Worldcoin has made a legal commitment to refrain from operating in Spain until the end of the year.

On June 4, the AEPD confirmed that Worldcoin's parent company, Tools for Humanity Corporation, will not engage in data collection or processing activities until the end of 2024 or if sooner, until the pending BayLDA consultation process concludes.

The audit is being conducted by the Bavarian (Germany) data protection authority, known as Bayerische Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA).

It is expected to reach a decision soon, in line with other European supervisory bodies, including Spanish authorities that previously ordered Worldcoin to suspend its data collection and processing activities in Spain in March 2024.
