According to data from Arkham Intelligence, Mt. Gox has recently transferred at least 42,830 BTC, which is equivalent to approximately $2.9 billion, out of its cold wallets.
The transfers were made in multiple transactions to an unknown address and took place on Tuesday. Notably, this is the first time in five years that Mt. Gox has moved assets from its wallets.
Despite the transfer, Mt. Gox still has about $9.42 billion in Bitcoins in its identified wallets that are being tracked by Arkham.
Mt. Gox's trustee announced back in September 2023 that the repayment deadline for creditors has been extended by 12 months, to October 31, 2024.
