Fidelity has filed an updated S-1 application with SEC for its proposed spot Ether ETF.

The asset management giant has reportedly stated that the underlying Ether tokens in the ETF will not be staked.

This amended filing follows reports the SEC has changed its stance on spot Ether ETFs, possibly due to political pressure. The SEC is said to have asked ETF issuers to update their 19b-4 filings.

The SEC's next deadline for VanEck's proposed Ether ETF is May 23.

According to an amended preliminary proxy statement, Grayscale Investments has also withdrawn staking from its proposed spot Ethereum ETF.

In an earlier filing, the company had suggested investors could stake Ether through the fund. However, that language was not included in Tuesday's latest presentation for the Grayscale Ethereum Trust.
