Grayscale CEO Michael Sonnenshein has resigned from his position.

He will be succeeded by Goldman Sachs executive Peter Mintzberg, effective August 15. In the meantime, Grayscale CFO Edward McGee will serve as interim CEO.

According to Digital Currency Group founder and CEO Barry Silbert, Sonnenshein has been instrumental in growing Grayscale and launching the first US spot Bitcoin ETFs.

Silbert also announced that Mintzberg will join the company on August 15, bringing more than 20 years of experience at leading asset managers such as BlackRock, OppenheimerFunds and Invesco.
