The US SEC has again deferred several proposals that would allow options on spot Bitcoin ETFs to be traded, and is seeking public input on the matter.

This comes after several platforms, including Cboe Exchange, Inc, have requested approval to allow options on spot Bitcoin ETFs to be traded.

The regulator on Thursday filed a list of these platforms and indicated that comments are due in 21 days and rebuttal comments in 35 days.

The SEC has also raised questions about whether options on spot Bitcoin ETFs must meet the same standards as stocks.

One such question concerned whether position limits for options on Bitcoin ETFs should be the same as for options on stocks and whether the supply of Bitcoin available in the markets should be taken into account in setting these limits.
