Coinbase has announced that users in the UK can now use their iPhone's Apple Pay feature to buy Bitcoin, Ethereum and other digital assets.
The move is intended to provide a more secure and private option for buying cryptocurrencies, according to Coinbase.
The exchange has explained that Apple Pay purchases do not store card numbers on the device or on Apple's servers. Instead, a unique account number is encrypted from the device and stored on a standard chip for secure storage of payment information.
The Coinbase team has added the integration of Apple Pay in the UK makes it easier to access digital assets in the country.
Coinbase has also revealed there are more than six million adults in the UK who own cryptocurrencies.
