The SEC has again extended the deadline for making a decision on the approval of Grayscale’s Ethereum Futures Trust exchange-traded fund (ETF).
According to a March 22 notice, the new deadline for the decision is May 30, pushing back the March 31 date previously set.
Grayscale's proposed ETF involves investing in Ether (ETH) futures contracts, and the SEC has stated it needs more time to study the proposed rule and the potential issues raised.
This is not the first time the SEC has delayed a decision on Grayscale's futures ETF. In December 2023, the regulator pushed back the approval date.
Grayscale filed its Ethereum Futures Trust ETF application in September 2023.
